Just what is the mystery behind the Hitachi Wand? People ask whether it’s a sex toy or a deep muscle tissue massager. Simply looking at it does not give away any hint that it can be used for sexual pleasure, but it does appear to be a genuine hand held product with no real mystery behind it whatsoever. That doesn’t mean to say one can’t use it for nocturnal or personal gratification and let’s face it; it’s unfair to blame a cucumber for illicit use just because it happens to have a phallic shape.

The Hitachi Magic Wand would not strike any person stumbling across it as an item which is no more than a deep muscle massager. But upon investigations around forums and blogs by women who had used the Hitachi Magic Wand, I was firmly put in my place and surprised that many had made use of the Hitachi Wand for no other reason than to use it for sexual pleasure.

So, pretty much you’ve got the best of both worlds in the Hitachi Magic Wand; it is an effective product for relieving tension in the neck and other aching muscles and having been used on the New York-based television series Sex and the City, it quickly became seen as a sex toy. I can’t say for sure how high the eyebrows were raised by Japanese executives at the Tokyo-based offices of Hitachi, but sure enough at exhibition showcasing some of Hitachi’s most successful products, the company hid the wand and many of the Hitachi Magic Wand accessories underneath the counter!

The company may express some reservations about it but sales are just too hot for them to even think about pulling production on this reliever, but what about these Hitachi Magic Wand attachments? There are several attachments you buy online that fit the Hitachi wand, but not all are necessarily made by Hitachi.

Admittedly I was amazed to discover one of the endorsed Hitachi Magic Wand attachments happened to be a “G Spotter.” So my thoughts are that the company is relishing its less than wholesome reputation. But so what, if the product sells well and is then praised highly by its users, doesn’t it warrant a huge pat on the back? A quick look through the Amazon reviews, known for their honesty and brutal criticisms of products, and you’ll find glowing review after glowing review. I may just get one for the pain in my neck!

You can now enjoy the comforts of a spa right in your own home. You can have a Jacuzzi bath installed in your house and enjoy the luxury of relaxation without going away from home. Rest and be refreshed in the Jacuzzi.

As you enjoy surging warm water all over your body, your mind has also been relaxed. Warm or hot water is known to possess healing properties, when used rightly and regularly. Civilizations have known and taken advantage of the medicinal and health value of hot water when used for relaxation. Available in modern times are steam baths and steam showers that create a soothing effect for people who use them.

Many also utilize a Jacuzzi bath and whirlpool baths for the same purpose. This soothing effect relieves stress. Stress has become the silent killer, according to many medical studies. The rationale behind this finding is that stress is not only a condition of the mind, it also manifests itself physically. People who are suffering from stress experience different kinds of physical pain. Some of which include stiff necks, headaches, back aches, sore muscles, indigestion, and even heart problems.

How It Works

When a person rests in a Jacuzzi bath, he can find some alone time to be quiet, to meditate and to free his mind from concerns and worry that cause stress. When stress is eliminated, the risk of developing other pains, physically or mentally, is also reduced. One should be careful not to allow stress to take its toll on the body. Many have had various kinds of sicknesses that are stress-related. To fight stress, it is good to spend quality rest time and time alone in a Jacuzzi bathtub will work wonders for your body and mind.

You will get to relax and meditate in a serene environment, submerged in warm water that soothes the body. A great benefit of the Jacuzzi bath is that it is good for the skin. It rejuvenates the skin and flushes out dead skin cells as well as tones and moisturises the skin. Proper hydration is needed and a good dip in a Jacuzzi bath will help. What’s more, this will help improve your sleep. If you regularly use the Jacuzzi, you will, like most other users, have a long lasting and deep restful sleep. And everyone knows that a good sleep is very vital to the body and mind. So take a bath before bedtime and experience the sleep inducing wonders of the Jacuzzi bath. Unwind and relax both body and mind and get them ready for your much needed sleep.

Hydrotherapy

You need to take advantage of the benefits of hydrotherapy. This therapeutic use of water is good for men and women, adults and children, and especially senior citizens with different kinds of ailments that come because of age. It is a wonderful treatment for those who have physical conditions or experience physical stress, as well as mental and emotional stress. Hydrotherapy, through the use of Jacuzzi bath, is emotionally and mentally calming and has great physical relaxation benefits, relieving body tension and stress.

Workout programs are generally tailored based on need. These needs can be based on age, sex, or fitness goals. In this article we will be covering a standard workout program for the baby boomers.

What is the major difference between this workout and others? It is the exercises used along with the set and rep combinations. As the body ages the goal is to maintain muscle tone and strength which can be done with a slightly higher rep range. Also this allows lighter weights that then put less pressure and stress on joints. The exercises are chosen to put less stress on the body overall while still training the primary muscles of the body.

The Exercises

Leg Extensions – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

Leg Curls – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

Dumbbell Lunges – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

Standing Calf Raise – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

Machine Chest Press – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

Machine Rows – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

Dumbbell Lateral Raise – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

Dumbbell Curls – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

Triceps Pushdowns – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

Barbell Reverse Curls – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

Lower Back Machine – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

Machine Crunches – 2 sets of 10 to 12 reps

For each exercise do one warm-up set which is at about 60% of your working weight. Then the second set will be the heaviest weight you can handle for about 9 to 10 reps. After following this program for a few weeks you can add an additional work set if you feel comfortable.

Take up to a minute of rest between sets as well as exercises. The pace should be fast enough to keep the heart rate up but not so fast that you are out of breath. Reps should be done slowly in a controlled manner that incorporates maximum muscle fiber recruitment.

Warm-Up

Before starting this routine make sure to do 10 to 15 minutes of slow to moderate paced cardiovascular exercise to get the blood flowing. Muscles tend to be tighter when cold and will loosen up and lengthen up to 10 % when warmed up by exercise. Warm muscles are less likely to strain. Make sure to stretch the target muscles lightly between sets as well as at the end of the workout to increase flexibility.

Training Frequency

This routine covers the full body. It should be done twice a week with at least two complete days rest in between. As it takes anywhere from 48 to 96 hours for muscles to recover, repair, and grow after a workout resting at least 48 hours is necessary to ensure you are ready for another workout. If you still feel fatigued then take an extra day off rather than exercising. That is just your body telling you that you need more rest.

When it comes to choosing breast augmentation there are certain aspects of the surgery that clients often question. Obviously, those about to go into surgery want to feel comfortable with their surgeon and the procedure they are about to undertake, but very often it is the personal side of breast enlargement that raises questions, such as ‘how will I look after the operation?’, ‘Will I have much scarring?’ and ‘will I need to stay overnight?’. The J-Frame technique of breast augmentation, when compared to other approaches, has a range of benefits that cover many of these questions.

The J-Frame Technique

The J-Frame technique is an advancement in breast augmentation developed over the last 30 years and has become a popular technique in breast surgery. To practice this special technique, surgeons need an expert hand and a great deal of patience, not to mention having to complete extensive training. The process is certainly more technical than other breast enlargement techniques but the benefits to the patient are many, thanks to the fact that the technique uses a much smaller incision during surgery and very rarely needs the additional use of draining the breast that is required in many other breast enlargement techniques.

Breast Augmentation

Draining the breast is used during most of the current breast augmentation operations and is a lengthy process that will require the patient to remain at the clinic or hospital overnight. Avoiding the need for draining makes the whole surgery a great deal shorter and the breast augmentation can generally be done as a day care procedure letting the patient go home at the end of the day. In the days and months following a breast enlargement procedure using the J-Frame technique many patients find that, not only will there be less obvious scarring around the breast area post-surgery, but the healing process is a lot easier and recovery is quicker, allowing them to get back to their normal activities sooner than expected.

The Risk Factor

Of course, surgery is very rarely risk free, but by using the J-Frame technique there is certainly a lot less that can go wrong. There is no difference to the final look of the breast compared to alternative techniques, but thanks to the smaller incision, less scarring and reduced risk of problems encountered during the healing process, patients not only look great after their procedure but feel great too.

The thought of vacation will always make you smile. Who doesn’t want a vacation? Oftentimes we expect tanned skin or a fresh and relax aura after a week (or more) of vacation, but don’t you like to go for vacation and come back fitter and healthier? Well, this is now the new trend. More people are opting for fitness retreat than the usual vacation because the results are more rewarding.

If you are not convinced at all, then here are reasons why you should try a fitness retreat.

Focus on your goal without any distractions

Where else you can pursue your goal to lose weight without any distractions? Oftentimes our family, friends and colleagues can sabotage our goal to shed extra weight. There are family occasions like birthdays or weekly family dinner, or you cannot resist the invitations of your friends for after office dinner at your favorite restaurant.

Unlike being in the fitness retreat, you have no excuse because the people around you are on the same situation as you. They want to shape up. Also, you are surrounded with health experts, the meals served are healthy, and activities involved aim you to lose weight.

So, it is the right place for your goal.

Intensive exercise programs with the supervision of the experts

Fitness facility aims to help you achieve your desired weight and body. So your workout plans are personalized and oftentimes intensive to maximize the opportunity to shape up. And the best part of it, your exercise activities though intensive are supervised by experts. You have peace in mind that you are in good hands.

Escape possibilities to cave in bad health habits

Really, it is easy to break your one month of diet with a simple cup of ice cream. Before you realize it, you are already off track of your diet for weeks.

With the fitness retreat, you are focused and have no reasons not to be because it is the right facility. From employees to the guests, all have the same goal – to help you shape up fast.

An avenue to learn and understand better

To achieve long term result, you have to understand better things like nutrition, diet, fitness and health. In fitness retreat, they impart such knowledge so you will be equipped with the right knowledge to keep up your goal.

This information is shared by experts like certified nutritionists or trainers. There is no sales pitch here, only reality and truth.

Opportunity to relax

Apart from losing weight, another advantage of staying in fitness retreat is the opportunity to relax. Generally they offer facilities similar to five star hotels. It means you can expect spa, massage, meditations and swimming pools.

Isn’t it the best way to lose your unwanted kilos? So, stop delaying your plan. Kick start the lifestyle you always wanted to live. Remember that you are doing it for yourself and not for others.

All spas are not created equal. With associations of pampering, champagne and long jacuzzi soaks, they may seem like a bit of a frivolous luxury in these straitened economic times, but the truth is that there spare many more reasons to go to a spa than getting your nails done! Here are a few of them.

Spas for Health

Did you know that spas started out as healthy retreats built around mineral springs back in Roman times? What’s good enough for the Romans is still good enough for us and looking after your health is a great reason to visit the spa regularly. There are all kinds of spas focused on different areas of health and it’s up to you to choose the one that suits you best.

For example, you can go to a spa that focuses on teaching you about healthy nutrition and weight management. It’s like a short course in getting healthy and almost everyone can benefit from that. Don’t worry; in most cases you won’t have to count calories or points but you will learn techniques that you can easily apply in your own home. Before you do that you might want to take advantage of some of the other programs that spas offer such as detoxification. We’re not necessarily talking about drying out because of excess alcohol (though that’s possible too) but about exploring programs such as fasting and alternative approaches to sorting out your body.

Spas for Exercise

While you’re at it, spas are great places to kick start an exercise program and some of them have special programs of their own. Even if they don’t, they are likely to have great walking and hiking trails along with organised activities for people of different levels of fitness. They are also likely to have other exercise programs such as spin biking, Pilates, yoga, Zumba and more. That means there’s really no excuse to leave a spa without some improvement in your fitness. It’s a great way to get the inspiration you need to create a healthier lifestyle.

Spas for Relaxation

But even if you do just go to a spa for relaxation, it can also lead to great improvements in your overall sense of well-being. For example, a day at the spa can help combat stress and tension – which in turn is great for your immune system. Getting a good massage can relieve pain and help start the process of healing old injuries. It can improve your flexibility and your circulation too. And let’s not forget the pampering treatments that you can get. Body wraps, facials, manicures and pedicures all hope you to feel wonderful and can really improve your mood. And there is a scientific basis for this too – all of this helps feel good hormones to do their thing.

So really the best time to go to the spa is when you’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed, even if it means stretching the budget a little. The physical and mental benefits are worth every penny spent!

People who are stressed suffer from tight and sore muscles and sometimes constricted nerves, most of the time, the cause of their stress is their work: physical labour, not having enough rest, a difficult boss, too much workload and great responsibilities.

Other times, it is the relationship with other people that causes undue stress: bad co-workers, a rebel teenager, insensitive neighbours and even in-laws, however, one should be watchful about the negative effects of stress on the health. It is more than the manifestation of physical pain.

Stress is also known to cause sicknesses and diseases that are graver than physical pain, to relieve the body of stress and its possible health risk to you, get a good massage regularly, this will effectively ease out all the pain in your muscles and nerves, much better would be to take a good soak in a bathtub.

Warm water and a great massaging action are the best features of a whirlpool bathtub, it is so much better than an old-fashioned bathtub because the water jets cause a massaging motion that soothes the nerves and muscles, it is like getting water therapy in your home, if you cannot install one in your home, because it is too costly, you can go to a spa or a health club. These institutions employ the use of the whirlpool bathtub for relaxation sessions for their clients, they know the wonderful and often times healing effects of water therapy that is why they make the whirlpool bathtub accessible to many.

Hydrotherapy

This kind of therapy, more popularly known as hydrotherapy, is known to improve many body systems, for example, the lymphatic system is strengthened in that the therapy boosts the immune system by flushing out toxins in the body caused by stress. So, even if you do not see this result with your naked eye, relaxing in a whirlpool bathtub will help your body fight off viruses more effectively.

Another great effect is the improvement of blood circulation in the whole body, when this happens, the blood distributes what is needed throughout the whole body and not just brings comfort, but also induces an enhanced healing capability of the body. Soaking in a whirlpool bathtub, will also help the digestive system and will regulate and increase metabolism.

Now, if you are a little flabby and you want to rid of those unwanted fats, this wills aide you in your goal of losing weight, of course, the coupled with good diet and other exercise. Dip in a whirlpool bathtub and enjoy its hydrating effects to your skin. Most importantly soothe tight muscles, especially in the following areas most affected by stress: your neck or nape, shoulders and back.

Sore muscles produce sore joints, too, and sore muscles are especially painful and may cause you to be irritable. The warm water will loosen your muscles and the massaging effect will enhance blood flow to the muscles. Likewise, the whirlpool bathtub is a great unit not just for making your body clean but of relaxing tired nerves. Remember, a rested body often results in a rested mind. And everyone needs rest if we want to enjoy life.

I’m pretty sure I was born to multitask. I love rising to the challenge of whipping up a delicious meal, all while checking email, watching movies on Netflix, and beating my high score in Mahjongg Dimensions. Managing to serve all components of a complex meal to the table at the same time, all piping hot perfection, makes me feel like a master of my own little universe.

Ask me to find time to fit in a traditional workout, however, and I just might look at you like you have lobsters coming out of your ears. I simply don’t have enough hours in the day to dedicate one of them to sweating, panting, and trudging along while shapely gazelles prance majestically to my left and right, at one with their high-tech gym equipment, experiencing the endorphin rush of their runner’s high. Nope, I simply don’t have that kind of time, or interest.

Why Can’t I Just Be “In Shape” Without the Work of Getting There?

While it’s true I was a top notch distance runner during my high school days, those days are long behind me, and if you promise not to tell my old coach I might admit that I never really liked practicing anyway. If I could have just shown up on race day, run the course, and been done with it, that would have been ideal. Simply doesn’t work that way, and I learned the hard way if I’m going to burn calories, I have to play mind tricks to get past my stubborn opposition to working out.

Getting Fit on the Sly

•Find a new “office” for the day – Working from home is awesome. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. This little pot belly I’ve developed over the years from this sedentary lifestyle, however, that’s all yours! Oh, I see you already have one. To shake things up, and give myself some different scenery, I pack up my laptop, walk to different locations with wifi available, and set up my office there. So far in the past week I’ve called McDonald’s, Panera, and Starbucks my office. To really pump up the intensity of this endeavor, I’ve marked my home on a map, then drawn a 5 mile radius around it, anything within that circle is my “no-drive zone”, accessible by walking only.

•Swap out your chair – Chairs are so overrated! No lumbar support, they cut off circulation to your feet leaving you with swollen, achy stumps, there’s got to be a better solution. There is, it’s called a stability ball. Try doing your job while perched on one of these babies, I guarantee you’ll get an ab workout as you make small adjustments to maintain your balance throughout the day. More than just a workout for your core, it’s a brain flexer too, because you have to remain alert as well. The moment you stop paying attention to maintaining balance you’ll be picking yourself up off the floor. Try explaining that ruckus during a conference call. I’ve done it, it was a hoot.

•Take the stairs – I’m not telling you anything you haven’t already heard before when I suggest you take the stairs instead of the elevator, escalator, or moving sidewalk. To sneak in some extra calorie burning, take the stairs two by two. Remember the more sneaky fitness you squeeze into your day, the less time you’ll need to spend at the gym doing the real stuff.

•Take your calls standing – Our bodies burn more calories when standing compared to when we sit. A super easy way to sneak some fitness into your day is to take all of your calls standing up. If you’re in a line of work like me that has you receiving calls every two minutes, just picture those pounds melting away each time you stand up, sit down, and stand up once more.

•Pace around the place – Now that you’re on the phone and standing, start pacing! Hooray for multitasking. Walk back and forth, walk in place, walk wherever your bluetooth allows you to mosey while still being on top of business. Moderate pace, fast pace, just move around, adopting this as a habit will make a major difference in your fitness level.

•The buddy (with benefits) system – My favorite sneaky fitness tip of all time, sexercise! Not only do you get the benefit of a rousing romp with a friend, you can repeat as often as you like so long as your friend is up for it. Enthusiasm really counts for something here, if you’re approaching the task simply because there’s nothing on television you’ll burn a lot fewer calories compared to treating the act like it was some kind of major emergency. Seriously, look up Dr. Weider’s famous study if you don’t believe me, and always use protection.

Short of This, There’s Always Competitive Beer Pong

I hope this has been helpful to you other fitness-phobes out there, and really these suggestions are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to sneaking in exercise that doesn’t feel like exercise at all. Dance parties with your kids, running through the sprinkler, and chasing down the ice cream truck are viable alternatives as well. Of course, if this is all too taxing for you, and you’re deeply committed to maintaining a position of constant recline, you may wish to browse through the various design options available with recumbent exercise bikes.

Freelance writer Rachel Cook doesn’t actually dislike exercise, she dislikes witnessing her reflection in the mirror while she exercises, which is why she likes to switch it up and get creative with her fitness routine. She also enjoys reading, watching documentaries, and volunteering in her community. When she’s not browsing http://www.allexercisebikes.net for her dream stationary bike, Rachel can be found trying to teach her cat, Patches, how to fetch toy mice.

There are a lot of causes for back pain. For one, it can be caused by repetitive movements such as lifting heavy boxes at work with bending and twisting movements. It may also be caused by regular activities such as sports and exercise, causing back muscle strain and spasms.

Two, it can also be caused by static or stationary positions such as sitting in front of the computer or standing for long hours. Three, back pain may also be caused by natural processes such as aging and pregnancy. Four, back pain may also be caused by an accident, which resulted to fracture of the spinal column, herniation and bulging of the disks, damage to the soft tissues of the back, etc.

Rest

Back pain, depending upon the severity, can be treated at home. The most common treatment for back pain is rest. If you stop your usual activities for a few days, it will allow the injured and damaged tissues to heal. Once they heal, the pain will subside, allowing you to move pain-free once again.

Cold and Hot Packs

You can also hasten up the process of healing by applying hot or cold packs over the painful site. Of note though, if the back injury is recent, then cold packs are applicable. Cold prevents further swelling and inflammation at the injured site. However, if the injury is more than 24 hours, then hot packs are more advisable. Heat helps relax the injured muscles and allow good blood circulation in the affected site, which can help reduce swelling and inflammation.

Cold and heat packs should be used for only about 20 minutes though, as too long can cause frostbite and burns.

Massage

You can also massage the area that’s causing you pain. The massaging action causes the back muscles to loosen up, relaxing it and allowing blood to flow more freely. The increased blood circulation, in turn, helps to decrease the swelling and inflammation at the site. It also helps wash away Substance P, which is a neurotransmitter that is associated with pain.

Medications

If the back pain is not relieved by the methods mentioned earlier, then you can try using nonprescription pain medications such as ibuprofen. Ibuprofen can reduce pain and discomfort for a while, but the pain returns though once the medication wears off.

If you want stronger pain meds, then you can visit your doctor and have your back pain seen. If your back pain warrants it, then he may prescribe you with a prescription pain medication. It’s stronger and lasts longer than over-the-counter pain meds.

Of note though, being on pain meds has risks, especially if you’re going to be on it for a long period of time.

Operations and Surgeries

Back pain not controlled by all those mentioned above may need surgery and operation. However, before you undergo surgical procedures to treat back pain, you will have to go through extensive examinations first, including laboratory tests.

Persistent back pain caused by an accident is very difficult to deal with, especially if the only remedy to relieve it is surgery. You should know though that you can file a personal injury lawsuit against the person who caused you the injury. The monetary compensation that you can get when you win the case can help you a lot.

Jennifer Dalbeck is a freelance content writer for several personal injury blogs, including http://bobcohenlaw.com/ She writes articles regarding accidents, how you can avoid it, and what you can do should you be a victim of one.
